This Happened!

Year 2020 has, thus far, been a roller coaster ride for the entire world. For us there has been some very bright moments and this is one of them. 

Our son persevered his dream career and now we get the privileged of calling him  Cst. J Jackson.

Patiently waiting for the "good photos" as we were not permitted to go to ceremonies due to the pandemic so making due with these not perfect, but perfect to me photo's.

April Challenges

I love looking for inspiration from all sorts of places. Blogs, pinterest, sketches and a combination of all.

This lay-out features photo's from when our family attended a wedding last fall. Rarely do we have a chance to be together so when we are capturing those moments in a few photos is priority.

I received inspiration from two separate blogs and will be entering their challenges based on the monthly contests.

From old to new!

This winter I seen this set of 3 end tables for sale and my mind went wild with possibilities! So off I sent my husband to pick these beauties up. The smallest and the medium one got sanded down quite quickly as they were flat on top.

Still not sure what I wanted to do with them I took them to my craft space to stare at for a few weeks.

This is what I did this weekend!

Smallest 14x14" top 

(Now a plant stand)

Medium 20 x 20" top

(Now a computer table in our living space)

I did some basic paper to wood with sanding and distressing. The white space was painted with chalk paint and they were sealed with a clear sealant.

They look old, rustic and I LOVE them :)

The largest of the three is still a work in progress!

Featuring Little Brother

My one and only younger brother is a very successful Chef, has ink all over his body and a heart of gold.

This photo was taken last year and steal it I did.

I absolutely love how this page turned out. I started with a cream color cardstock and built the color and textures on top of it.

Welcome Summer 2015

Been playing some catch up on some of my favourite garden pictures from 2015 and this is one of them!

Next to crafting, searching for vintage finds is my next best thing to do. My husband and I usually spend out Saturdays in the yard sale circa. Last year we found this dresser for $10 and it was already painted this colour...perfect find!

To create this page I used the following items: Paper from Fabscraps, Blue Fern, Bo Bunny, embellishments from fancy pants. Added textures by using the sewing machine, modelling paste, cut-outs from dies spellbinders and Lawn Fawn, Distress ink and a heart punch.

Crop & Create 2016

This is one event my friend and I look forward to going to each year we can. 

What I enjoy the most is the classes and getting to meet those creative people that we witness in magazines. I never get much extra done and that is perfectly OK because I go for the entire experience.

The fourth Class was also by Bo-Bunny but I haven't finished yet. 

If you haven't experienced Crop & Create I highly recommend giving it a go. It's completely different then any other crops you've attended.

Nature's Beauty

My husband has tried for several years in a row to grow giant sunflowers, without success. The critters always got to the seedlings before they could develop and grow.

However this year we noticed an odd growth in between our rose bushes and fought the urge to pull it early in the season. How happy we were to see it grow into a beautiful 8 headed sunflower {this photo shows six heads with two more to bloom after photo's were taken}.

Not sure how it got there but we learned from natures brilliance and realized perhaps this was the best place to grow sunflowers. The prickly branches of the roses makes them a difficult target for critter food.

Used Bo Bunny's beautiful, and most suitable paper, Enchanted Harvest along with embellishments; Distress Sprays, UTEE, White Enamel Dots, Maya Road envelope.

Say YES to the Dress!

One of my fondest memories of Abbigail's Senior year is going prom dress shopping with her.

Of course I thought she looked absolutely beautiful in every dress she tried on but the look on her face with "the" one, tells the tale.

When I attended Crop and Create at Moncton a few weeks ago our attendee's package included a variety of papers and embellishments from several companies. It was from this stack that I chose the products to create this double page layout.

 

I used products from the following companies: Dear Lizzy, Basic Grey, BoBunny, Bazzill, Heidi Swapp, American Crafts, Ranger and MME

I did create the tags using many, many Ranger products so I could have matching backgrounds for each dress. The techniques used on these were taught by Vicki Boutin at a class I took at Crop & Create.
