DREAM

I love play dates with my friends! I always find new inspiration when I am with like minded people and it makes me very happy.

I decided that dabbling in some mix media art was what  was needed on the menu!

Using a variety of products such as Modelling Paste, Tissue Paper, Prima Julia Netting Stamp, Pattern Paper, Stencils, Inks, Paints, Embossing Powder, Creative Embellishment Chipboard, ...the list is endless. That's what I love so much about mix media, there's no right or wrong and everything always looks so ugly until the last few steps. That's when the magic happens and your project takes a life of it's own. Love how this canvas turned out :)

Monkey Love

Not sure what the infatuation Abbigail had with Monkey's, but she loved them her entire childhood. If truth be known, I think she still does!

For this lay-out I used gesso to first mute the pattern down and then distress paint to bring the background to a nice green. Then I ended up scrubbing the paint off with a baby wipe as it was too dark. Oh well, a work in progress.

Loving texture on my projects this one certainly has a variety of textures. including sewing, modeling paste, stamps, glassine paper, twine and more!

Paper used was a beautiful line from Crate Paper called Open Book. I've induced some of their embellishments as well (tags and brads, which are fabric covered).

I hope you are inspired to create something fun soon!

Using the materials I have to replicate Tim's inspired monthly tag for the Love month <3

I loved Mr. Jackson 29 years ago (in this photo, my Nursing graduation ball in 1987) and I will love him for 29 more

Right Some Good!

Right Some Good is a food experience like no other. An evening filed with fine dining created by local and far away chefs. Their creative dishes are designed around our local foods and beverages with a twist of "come-from-away" flare.

My little bother, Jason, was honoured to be one of the local chefs for this event.

Chef Rich Francis, Chef Tommy Klauber, Chef Dennis McIntosh and

Chef Jason Sampson (AKA...little bro)

I started this lay-out a while back and I'm sure I used one of Karan Gerber Sketchablities but can not remember which one.

Tim Holtz Tags 2016- January

Haven't followed the tag train in a few years but during a girls crafting session on Jan 2, I decided to jump aboard and make January's tag as my first 2016 project. Thanks Tim for always inspiring!

Had to alter a tad from the original but that's OK and it's what makes the monthly challenge so much fun.
