We are Family

This summer I was so happy when it all came together and I was able to host the first ever Sampson/Jackson family gathering!

The weather was beautiful, food was delicious and time together...well that is priceless.

We all get very busy in our lives and rarely do we make unconditional time for each other as we take it for granted that it will always be there.

Got lots and lots of photo's so you'll be seeing more :)

Winter Wonderland- With Purple Hair!

Our beautiful daughter is very adventurous with her hair. Always trying new do's. Now when they look good all is well but when they look bad...well lets just sayd on those days I'm happy to have miles between us ;)

This was an odd but good look for her and Carta Bella Paper line- Flora was picture perfect to show case her.

Abby lives in Vancouver so this picture of the very green bush with freshly fallin snow was the real deal....no photo altering here. A rare but very beautiful back drop for this beautiful of a human.

Bringing back the "old" techniques

Hi friends!

Today I give all the credit to Jennifer McGuire for these cards. She is my go to card making inspiration and often adapt her tips and tricks into my crafting.

I've linked to her blog below and really encourage you to check her out.

Alcohol inks have been around for a very long time and were utilized in many crafters projects. But just like everything else something newer and more exciting came along and Alcohol inks took a back seat. Well hopefully these samples will bring that excitement back!

These are some of my favourite and I know I will be creating more!

Simon Says Monthly Card Kits and Life

Haven't posted in a while as I've been out and about enjoying life and crafting!

Card making is currently on the top of my crafting fad and this post shows a little of that work.

I recently signed up for Simon Says Monthly Card Kits and I have to say I'm lovin' it! Even though the cards for September were cutesy, feminine and bright, I loved having everything needed in one box to create a total of 10 cards.

Heartfelt Handbag- Fall Style

Think we are really fortunate to have four distinct seasons! We get to enjoy new transitions, colours and temperatures.

Purchased my Heartfelt Creations bag last Winter/Spring so I decked it out with Spring/Summer mix media art. Now I get to resign and flip those inserts into the fall theme.

The front pocket is deep which allows for lots of dimension. This is fantastic for the star of the show...The Heartfelt Sunflower!

And the back is perfect for flat art work

Now for close ups and product lists:

Product Spotlight:

Tombow Dual Tip Markers are the show stoppers as these are what I used to add all the colour you see with exception to the edges which was done with Tim Holtz Distress Ink- Vintage Photo.

Markers used were: #991, #098, #905, #027, #026, #977, #879 and #992

Along with the markers the other product that is a must whenever adhering paper to chipboard, cardboard or wood is Tombow Aqua Glue...it is the absolute best!!
