Single Page Lay-out: Pear Tree Treasures Design Team Project

This is now the third of four glorious projects created with Carta Bella Farmhouse Market collection. Not sure how many products are left of this line at the Pear Tree but if the first 2 projects didn't inspire you to want it maybe this one will! You can find what is left by following this LINK.

Single Page Layout: Extra products used was gesso/modeling paste with stencil for background texture (see separate photo), sewing and border punch; gems

Close up of the background! Using white gesso or modeling paste creates such wonderful texture and elegant back drops on a white background without taking away from that white space.

Give it a try!

Sweet Sunshine- March Stick it Down Challenge

Next to crafting, gardening is my next favorite thing. Well maybe not so much the act of gardening but the creating of planters, watering and watching it all flourish would be the most favorite part!

Summer 2021 was a spectacular garden season and I would have to say the butterflies, hummingbirds, moths, dragonflies fully agreed!

The layout is featuring a lovely butterfly getting its feast from the hydrangea tree.

Set of Thank you Cards and GIVE AWAY!

Here is Take 2 of the projects created from the fabulous Carta Bella Farmhouse Market collection as part of the Pear Tree Treasures Design Team.

There are 4...yes 4! great projects created from this line so travel over to scoop up the products to play along. The collection can be found HERE (not sure how much will be left by now)

This project is a cute box of Thank You Cards made using the paper line, stickers and the tag die.

The give away is the Tag Die! I used it only once to create these cards and really want to gift it to one of you. Please go over to Pear Tree Facebook Community Page for more details. If you are not part of the community yet then jump aboard the gravy train of fabulous members and projects. It is called The Treasure Trove by Pear Tree Treasures.

And yes I created the little box because, why not!

Here is the process for that:

Thanks card set with box: Used Carta Bella Tag Die set; Cards 3 ¼ x 5- set of 5

To create a card box follow the steps below:

  1. Measure your envelopes

  2. Box Base will be 2 ¼” above the size of your envelopes; score each side at 1”

  3. Cut the ends as shown

  4. Fold and varnish score lines and glue ends together

Box top you will follow exactly the same steps BUT you will add another ⅛”  to the measurements.

Example:

Envelopes 4x5

Box base will be 6 ¼” x 7 ¼” and you will score 1” on each side

Box top will be 6 ⅜” x 7 ⅜” and you will score 1” on each side

Underwater Sea- Mix Media Project

This was a fun project to make, one that continued to change into something unique and one of a kind.

All I knew was I wanted to create a cube. The rest came from playing with mix media products.

4"X 4" cube made from chipboard
Many mix media products including: mould shapes of sea items (used prima mold and molding clay); finnibar products such as paints, waxes and sparkles; distress inks; gesso

Chipboard Shapes: Never stop exploring
Paper: Authentique Voyage
Stencil: By the Sea

Getting out of a Creative Funk

Who hasn't felt like they have no mojo to create???

For me it tends to hit after I've been on a creative craze where I've spit out a number of projects.

When the "funk" hits me my go to is either to create from premade items, use items I've already primed (like jelly prints) or sit and produce some items to have on hand (die cuts, jelly prints, etc).

Yesterday I used jelly prints I had on hand and a number of dies (Tim Holtz birds, frames, flowers/ stamp frames, Tim Holtz peel and stick sentiments/ prima waxes/ Tim Holtz distress inks and mini brads)

22 Cards made! Loads of dimensions. Can't see the sparkle and shine in the photo's but in person it is very pretty.
